Is this a new level of decadence in society
, or is this just a case of trying something that's not been tried before and people not wanting to waste food...![]() ![]() ![]() from Time Magazine: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...870492,00.html Quote:

I've heard about this, and it's curious. Has anybody here tried savory ice creams before? Might be something I'll have to make at home. Break out the garlic!

I have a few friends who would probably agree that Bacon can be eaten any time of the day!

Nice icon, did you make it yourself? I like bacon just fine, but I don't think I would want to eat it in a chocolate bar (I wonder how they preserve the bacon in the one sold through Vosges) or ice cream, though I have tried savory ice cream (ginger flavor).
I'm afraid I have rather old-fashoned ideas about when and under what circumstances to eat bacon. When I was younger, I wished that it would get served more often at home, but times and ideas about nutrition were a-changin' (I believed in eating a good breakfast, and liked having the crispy strips of bacon fresh from the frypan and the eggs fried in the bacon grease along with toast when I wasn't having granola cereal and wheat germ... I was born in the 1970s, can you tell?)

Thanks! My avatar icon was originally a little stuffed ninja doll, but I've co-opted it and changed it a bit to make it jello and jiggly.
I used to like bacon more than I do now, it seems like the flavor stays with me a bit too long these days... that said I've been trying to change up flavors in things a lot more lately - like adding chili powder to chocolate cupcakes, and chocolate to chili. Hrm, I guess that's not too odd. We just pulled our ice cream maker out of the cabinet a few weeks ago and the kids loved making ice cream, so now I want to try some weird stuff in there. Although I don't think they'd like bacon, or avacado flavor. Perhaps chili flavored ice cream? ![]()
